Artificial Intelligence (AI) has made alot of things possible, and even now its applications are quite limitless. With AI there are a lot of things that can be achieved like a self-driving bike.
BMW has unveiled a bike that can literally drive itself and smart enough to decide what to do in different situations. The self-driving bike can speed around a race track and even park itself.
The bike is controlled by an Intelligent software which dictates when to accelerate, lean, lean around corners and apply brakes. The bike is being developed to keep bikers safe by acting as a driving assistant.
By acting as a driving assistant, the bike can automatically applying brakes or adjust steerings during dangerous situations.
Made by BMW Motorrad, the motorcycle division of the German automaker. The vehicle has been in development for over two years. The bike is shown starting its engine, accelerating itself and also racing at breakneck speed and then decelerating and braking.
‘The prototype helps us to expand our knowledge about the vehicle’s dynamics so that we can classify the rider’s behaviour,’ Stefan Hans, a Motorrad safety engineer, says in the video.
This helps us determine if a future situation will become dangerous or not.
‘If so, we can inform, warn or intervene directly.’
