The average rating for this juicer on amazon.com currently is 4.5/5 stars. With almost all of its 11 ratings being in the 5 star range it seems like a very solid product. To have no reviews lower then 3 stars in over 5 years of sale is pretty impressive.
One reviewer compared the Acme 5001 Juicerator to both the Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite as well as the Omega 4000 Stainless Steel 1/3 HP continuous pulp ejection juicer.
Stating that by comparison both other juicers were a disappointment. Mentioning also that the Acme extracted more juice then either of the other juicers, and did an excellent job on greens like Kale and Chard.
What gives greater testament to the durability of the Acme juicer though, is that three reviewers mentioned buying their juicers in the 70′s and they still function well.
Even after one of them was put away uncleaned in a storage unit for 5 years! After about thirty minutes of clean up the juicer was cleaned up and running like normal. The only complaint either of them had was the noise level, but for what the machine can do no one has found it to be a real problem.
Other reviewers do warn about a few different things, though. One is that the juicer is not the easiest machine to clean; especially the basket because of it’s ‘closed-in’ shape. Another is the fact that paper filters are used.
Individuals have to change the filters often or will end up getting less juice from their fruits and vegetables. Finally, users say that the feed tube is relatively small and that fruits and vegetables have to be cut up before they can be put through the juicer.
Even with these minor complaints, the majority of reviewers gave the machine four and five stars because it works reliably and does a wonderful job juicing just about everything.
Overall, users seem to be extremely happy with the performance of this juicer. In conclusion, if you don’t mind a little noise and have room for a slightly larger juicer the Acme 5001 Juicerator Juice Extractor is a excellent product for the money. And is well deserving of our endorsement.
