While researching the Cuisinart CCJ-100 Citrus Pro online we were able to find one hundred and ninety eight reviews awarding this machine two and half out of five stars. The reviews were strongly negative, however a very select group of reviewers had positive things to say about this machine.
Roughly seven reviewers all agreed that this machine was easy to use and easy to clean. These reviewers, often new to juicing or older, enjoyed these features very much. By being easy to use even the inexperienced could produce tasty juice, and the ease of cleaning allowed for busy people, or those with joint problems to continue juicing regardless.
Several reviewers also mentioned that they felt their units were very handsomely designed. These reviewers felt that, due to the handsome design, even if they did not have storage space for their unit they did not mind it sitting out on their counter. The black and silver color scheme fits into most kitchen décor and is not a trendy color, so it will never go out of style.
The quality for the price point of this juicer was also brought up on several occasions. Reviewers agreed that for the price they were charged their units worked well and were of decent quality. They all agreed with the old saying “you get what you pay for” but they felt in this instance the quality was good for how little they paid for it.
This however, was the end of any sort of positive review. There were so many negative points raised we cannot possibly cover them all here in less than ten pages. However we have picked three that at least five or more reviewers brought up.
Nineteen reviewers complained that this machine makes a huge mess on the counter, and sometimes walls, of their kitchen. These reviewers complained that not only did the unit itself leak, but also the auto reverse spin feature would randomly kick on.
When this randomly kicked on and reviewers were not expecting it they often got splashed with juice, along with their counter and/or walls. These reviewers found this frustrating as they felt they spent more time cleaning up juice than drinking or making it, and all the juice that was spilled could no longer be drunk.
Another sixteen reviewers complained that this machine hopped, along the counter while turned on, this also contributed to the spilling issue. One reviewer stated this was an issue because the reviewers who complained about it did not have the cord stored properly along the bottom.
We, however, find it very difficult to believe that sixteen reviewers were unable to spot this as an issue for months before posting their complaints.
The awkward shape and height of this unit was reported by five reviewers to make it very difficult to find a container to fit this machine. This machine does not come with a custom fit container, and ill fitted ones often let juice leak out around them.
Several reviewers reported the rounded shape meant they had to hold it at an angle or try to find a very shallow bowl to juice into. This was annoying, as it leads to more dishes to wash and spillage.
Over all we feel we must strongly discourage consumers from purchasing the Cuisinart Citrus Pro. There were simply too many flaws listed, too many to include in this review roughly thirteen more points worth mentioning, to make it worth purchasing.
Instead we suggest that consumers save a bit and purchase a higher quality machine.
