The vibe between two actors can literally affect the whole movie. It is very important that the co-stars get along with each other and their chemistry should be great if you want to produce a close to real life inspiration movie.
Or at least we thought so… But, what happens if the co-stars hate each other? What happens if they seriously don’t stand to see each other and then have to work with them and even film some romantic and passionate scenes?
Well, fact indicate us some interesting news: if you are a professional, it won’t affect your good acting at all. Here are some of the most famous actors who despised their co-star so bad, they wouldn’t literally speak to each other after the cameras went off.
Nick Nolte and Julia Roberts, I Love Trouble (1994)
According to some recourse, Julia and Nick didn’t like each other at all. They would always find a way on set to annoy each other and make fun with one others acting.
On set of their romantic comedy movie, I Love Trouble, Nolte seemed to really detest Julia’s attitude and didn’t mind to let her know that. It ended up so bad so they would most of the time work on stand-ins than with each other.
Julia even called him “a disgusting human being”. Let’s hope they have putted the past behind and now, after more than two decades, they are OK with each other….or at least let’s hope they have forgotten about their hate.
Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling, The Notebook, (2004)
One of the most famous love stories of 21 century, The Notebook by Nicolas Sparks, was actually not so romantic between the co-stars who were lucky enough to be the protagonist’s on the movie version of this story.
Rachel and Ryan didn’t have a great chemistry together despite their ‘totally in love’ part on the movie. In fact, Ryan Gosling wanted to kick McAdams off the set because he couldn’t stand her.
They were far from friendly when making the movie and they would occasionally start conflicts with each other. Apparently, Rachel was too annoying and stubborn and didn’t want to collaborate with him on off camera.
Blake Lively and Leighton Meester, Gossip Girl, (2007)
Even though your dreams might crush, the BFFs you thought were like sisters to each other didn’t actually translated off screen too. Blake and Leighton actually hated each other on real life.
Even on these days they reportedly do not have any kind of contact any more. They have been BFF on Gossip Girl which aired form 2007 to 2012 but in reality, BFF was the least expected thing to happen.
Some rumors suggest that their little friendship ended when Blake Lively started to neglect Leighton’s opinions and ideas and didn’t congratulated her on her engagement with Adam Brody either.
Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall, Sex and the City, (1998-2004)
Despite their great friendship and chemistry on cameras, the two co-stars reportedly disliked each other a lot. The famous Sex and the City protagonists actually would totally ignore each other on set and frequently avoid every meeting or conversation. In an interview, she admitted that sometimes when on
set for over 90 hours a week, feelings get hurt. Some other resources claim that their friendship was over when Kim discovered that Sarah had made a lot more money than her during the entire years of their TV series.
