Chief Olusegun Matthew Aremu Obasanjo was born in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria, on the 5th of March, 1937. Chief Obasanjo was once a Nigerian military head of state before becoming the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s Second democratically elected president.

This robust portfolio makes Olusegun Obasanjo the longest-serving president in the world’s most prominent black nation.

He is often called “Baba Iyabo” because of his daughter Iyabo Obasanjo who has also made headlines in the Nigerian political sphere, or “OBJ,” which is an abbreviation for Obasanjo.

He is not only one of Nigeria’s key political players, but is is also one of the most famous politicians in Africa.

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is from one of Nigeria’s major ethnic, Yoruba, and has been married to 4 different women. Amongst the four women who have been married to chief Obasanjo was identified more with late Mrs. Stella Obasanjo.

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo served Nigeria as president for eight years under the people’s democratic party PDP. Some people have claimed that it was during chief Obasanjo’s eight-year reign as president of Nigeria that the country acquired its reputation as one of the most corrupt in the world.

Notable achievements of the Chief Olusegun Obasanjo regime as president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria include the introduction of GSM (Global System for Mobile communication) and a rise in the Nigerian GDP from 3% to 6%.

Although Baba Iyabo’s assets have never been entirely made public, if the information made available by Forbes list this 2020 is anything to go by, then Obasanjo’s current net worth is estimated to be a sum of $1.2 billion.
