Oppo phones, due to their distinctive pop-up cameras and vibrant colours, stand out from the crowd. They also have top performance battery life and great camera capabilities.

Over the last few years, Oppo has made great strides in the European telephone market, cementing itself as a legitimate alternative to more well-known brands.

Oppo seems to have a very unconventional name scheme, so while you might see a lot of mentions of Find or Reno branded phones, each is somewhat different from the last.

For a more in-depth description of what that means to us and the features they provide, we should look at their specifications.

Oppo became China’s biggest smartphone maker in June 2016, selling its phones at over 200,000 retail outlets. In 2019, Oppo was China’s largest smartphone brand and was ranked No. 5, worldwide, in market share.

It also has a wide variety of options to select from. All of the Oppo devices below, as we will see, deliver all the main features we might need, while still covering every budget.

Table of Contents

1. Oppo Find X2 Neo

Oppo Find X2 Neo

The Oppo Find X2 Neo primarily provides what we might need for the price. Thanks to the 90Hz refresh rate, along with some strong speakers, it has an outstanding and smooth OLED screen. We think, combined, it’s a solidly stable gaming phone.

Furthermore, there is strong photography prowess here too with a powerful and versatile camera that can capture even objects at night pretty well.

Some somewhat overcooked colours are the only downside here. The phone itself looks very unremarkable, and a fingerprint magnet is at the back of it, but everything else about the Oppo Find X2 Neo feels very reliable and attractive.

Oppo Find X2 Neo specs

  • Screen size: 6.5-inch
  • Storage: 256GB
  • CPU: Snapdragon 765G

  • Front camera: 32MP
  • Resolution: 1080 x 2400

2. Oppo Find X2 Pro

Oppo Find X2 Pro

The Oppo Find X2 Pro is the most exclusive and accomplished smartphone from Oppo. With a camera array and software, processor, top-end display, the Oppo Find X2 Pro is the best smartphone we can purchase from Oppo right now.

The company really seemed to have gone all-out to make the best smartphone it could. The reason why we wouldn’t consider picking up this phone is the price.

The Oppo Find X2 Pro costs more than the iPhone 11 Pro Max’s basic edition, which is to say it’s a highly expensive smartphone with a cost that fits its specifications.

The OppoFind X2 Pro is certainly worth our money if we can look beyond the high price and we would also recommend it as the best Oppo phone you can buy right now.

Oppo Find X2 Pro specs

  • Rear camera: 48MP, 13MP, 48MP

3. Oppo Find X2

Oppo Find X2

The Find X2 is mostly the Find X2 Pro phone, but with a few differences that make it cheaper. The key difference is its triple cameras, which are only 2x optical zoom capability, though very fine, and have fewer megapixels on the ultra-wide lens.

With an excellent 6.7-in OLED display within a slim glass (or ceramic) and metal body, the X2 performs excellently. We can also completely charge the phone from dead in 38 minutes with 65W wired charging.

It is available with 128/256 GB of storage and 8/12 GB of RAM. The X2 is cheaper for almost the same performance if we can put up with the slight differences from the X2 Pro.

Oppo Find X2 specs

  • Weight: 192/209g
  • Resolution: 1440 x 3168
  • Screen size: 6.7-inch

  • OS: Android 10
  • Storage: 128/256GB

4. Oppo Reno 10x Zoom

Oppo Reno 10x Zoom

The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is named after its 10x hybrid zoom. It’s one of the best smartphones we can now buy.

With rear cameras that are flush with the back of the handset and a separate “shark-fin” pop-up camera section that houses the rear flash, as well as the selfie camera, it has a streamlined design.

The Reno 10x Zoom also has a great camera collection, including its13MP telephoto lens and the 48MP main snapper, which is responsible for the 10x zoom (though there is only 5x optical zoom, so the name is a little misleading).

The device is definitely a little bulky, and not exactly ideal for one-handed use, but that appears to be the case for tanks of phones like this, and if it’s too much, there are alternative devices.

Oppo Reno 10x Zoom specs

  • Release date: June 2019
  • OS: Android 9
  • Resolution: 1080 x 2340
  • Battery: 4,065mAh
  • Screen size: 6.6-inch
  • CPU: Snapdragon 855
  • Storage: 128/256GB
  • Weight: 210g
  • RAM: 6/8/12GB
  • Rear camera: 48MP, 13MP, 8MP
  • Front camera: 16MP

5. Oppo Reno 4 Pro 5G

Oppo Reno 4 Pro 5G

The Reno 4 Pro 5G offers some high-end performance and looks very stylish as well. In fact, compared to the competition, it provides decent output but at a hefty price, but we still like what it does.

Compared to many other Oppo phones, it has a more relaxed form factor and looks that bit classier. Incredibly, it charges fast too.

Although the 4,000mAh battery does not sound amazing, it makes up for it in just 30 minutes by going from 0 percent to 100 percent, which is perfect if you’re in a hurry.

The Reno 4 Pro 5G also has a decent camera under the hood, but for its price point, we shouldn’t expect the most powerful performance.

Oppo Reno 4 Pro 5G specs

  • Date of Release: June 2020
  • OS: Android 10
  • Weight: 172g
  • CPU: Snapdragon 765G
  • RAM: 8/12GB
  • Rear camera: 48MP + 13MP + 12MP
  • Front camera: 32MP
  • Storage: 128/256GB
  • Resolution: 1080 x 2400
  • Screen size: 6.55-inch
  • Battery: 4,000mAh

6. Oppo Find X2 Lite

Oppo Find X2 Lite

The Oppo Find X2 Lite is the most accessible and junior member of the Find X2 family. It is also a perfect 5G phone for individuals who don’t want to break the bank on one.

However the phone is not a one-trick pony, it has a decent chipset for its cost, the main camera that will take bright and bold pictures, and a good screen. It’s a strong all-rounder that even if 5G was not involved, would be perfect for its price.

The only thing that keeps this phone from being higher on our list of the best Oppo phones is that although they are pricier but provide a lot more, the more expensive members of the Find X2 line arguably offer better value for money.

Oppo Find X2 Lite specs

  • Date of Release: May 2020
  • OS: Android 10
  • Screen size: 6.4-inch
  • Resolution: 1080 x 2400
  • Rear camera: 48MP, 8MP, 2MP, 2MP
  • Front camera: 32MP
  • CPU: Snapdragon 765G
  • Weight: 180g
  • RAM: 8GB
  • Storage: 128GB
  • Battery: 4,065mAh

7. Oppo Reno 2

The Reno 2 is an enhanced version of the Oppo Reno, with, among other modifications, a bigger battery and better camera capabilities. It also came out with almost the same price tag, making its predecessor somewhat redundant, at least if we don’t see it in a sale.

Of course, the Oppo Reno 2 doesn’t surpass the 10x Zoom, which Oppo left alone as the top-end Reno smartphone, but this is a great option if we don’t want to splash out on that decidedly mid-range phone.

Just like the other Oppo phones, we get a trendy look and access to Oppo’s ColourOS branch of Android.

Oppo Reno 2 specs

  • Date of Release: September 2019
  • CPU: Snapdragon 730G
  • Weight: 189g
  • OS: Android 9
  • Rear camera: 48MP, 13MP, 8MP, 2MP
  • Front camera: 16MP
  • Resolution: 1080 x 2400
  • RAM: 8GB
  • Storage: 128/256GB
  • Battery: 4,000mAh
  • Screen size: 6.5-inch

8. Oppo A9 2020

Oppo A9 2020

The Oppo A9 2020 may be the best smartphone for us if we are on a budget. It’s the newest smartphone on this list from Oppo, arriving at the end of 2019, and it’s quite the antithesis to the remainder of the 2019 phone range from Oppo, which is all the comparatively high-end Reno phones.

There is a 720p screen, plastic back, and standard notch in the Oppo A9 2020, so it’s not exactly the most premium phone, but at this price that’s to be expected.

There is a lot to like on the device, and it came with four rear cameras, a good processor and a large battery.

Oppo A9 2020 specs

  • Release date: September 2019
  • Rear camera: 48MP, 8MP, 2MP, 2MP
  • Front camera: 16MP
  • CPU: Snapdragon 665
  • OS: Android 9
  • Resolution: 720 x 1600
  • Screen size: 6.5-inch
  • RAM: 4/8GB
  • Storage: 128GB
  • Weight: 195g
  • Battery: 5,000mAh

9. Oppo Reno 2Z

Oppo Reno 2Z

The Reno 2Z is a phone that is very similar to the Oppo Reno 2, so much that we have fully tested it together. The key differences here are a weaker chipset and much lower camera specs.

For the most part, our experience with the Reno 2Z would be the same as with the Oppo Reno 2, but we might want to stay away from the Reno 2Z if we are a big fan of gaming or photography. However, its price is a little lower, making it an appealing option.

Oppo Reno 2Z specs

  • Release date: September 2019
  • Rear camera: 48MP, 8MP, 2MP, 2MP
  • Battery: 4,000mAh
  • Weight: 195g
  • Screen size: 6.5-inch
  • Front camera: 16MP
  • OS: Android 9
  • Resolution: 1080 x 2340
  • Storage: 128/256GB
  • RAM: 8GB
  • CPU: MediatekHelio P90

10. Oppo A72

Oppo A72

The OppoA72 is a decent smartphone, though somewhat unexciting. It feels a little cheap in its construction, despite its sleek nature, and the performance is not as good as we would expect, even at this price point.

Apart from these problems, the phone is perfectly operable with an impressive battery from its huge 5,000 mAh cell. You will certainly get two days out of it with light use.

The box also contains speakers and a headphone jack. It has four cameras on the back that takes pretty good pictures (at least with the capable 49MP main sensor).

It’s not the best Oppo smartphone, but it is definitely better than phones from other brands at this price.

Oppo A72 specs

  • Date of Release: April 2020
  • Weight: 192g
  • OS: Android 10
  • Rear camera: 48MP, 8MP, 2MP, 2MP
  • CPU: Snapdragon 665
  • Screen size: 6.5-inch
  • Storage: 128/256GB
  • Front camera: 16MP
  • RAM: 4/8GB
  • Resolution: 1080 x 2400
  • Battery: 5,000mAh
