Hello, there, today I present a battle between two of Tecno’s devices within the same price range, Tecno Camon 12 vs Tecno Pouvior 3 Plus.
The Tecno Camon 12 is a camera flagship while the Pouvior 3 plus leads the way in the battery department. They also lead my recommendations for the best Tecno phones to get in 2020 (as at the time of writing this article).
So here is the battle. It is Tecno Camon 12 vs Tecno Pouvior 3 Plus, let us see who the winner is.
Tecno Camon 12 vs Tecno Pouvior 3 Plus: Design and Display
Both smartphones have been designed to look like the Tecno Phantom 9. Using the same camera cut out, the same notch display amongst other things. The
The Tecno Camon 12 has a dewdrop notch on a 6.52 inch IPS Infinity V display. The device has slim bezels on at the bottom of the panel and comes with over 81% screen-to-body ratio.
The Tecno Pouvior 3 Plus ditched the normal IPS displays for an AMOLED display. This seems to be a power-efficient move for a smartphone that has a big battery.
Tecno Camon 12 comes with 720 x 1600 pixels present and also a 20:9 aspect ratio while the Pouvior 3 Plus display has 6.35 panel, 720*1548 pixel resolutions and over 85% screen to body resolution. The brightness is aided by the AMOLED display and the aspect ratio is 19.5:9. It utilizes the PowerVR GE8320 GPU for graphics.
Results: Obviously, the Camon 12 is expected to come out top with wider screen (6.52 inch), a little more pixel and also a little more aspect ratio. Fair enough but the AMOLED display on the Pouvior 3 plus is enough lifeline for it to battle. AMOLED utilizes less power and also shows more color. On account of size, the Camon 12 should win but it is a draw
Tecno Camon 12 vs Tecno Pouvior 3 Plus: Camera Specifications
A phone’s camera is easily one of the most sought after feature in when purchasing smartphones.
The Tecno Camon 12 features a 16MP lens on the selfie camera position. This is assisted by enhanced software for better photography. There is a dual flashlight on the top panel. The triple rear camera setup consists of a 16 MP main lens, assisted by 8MP and 2MP lenses. There is also a quad-LED flashlight available.
The selfie camera features a 13MP selfie sensor with a dual flashlight on the top panel. At the back is the triple camera setup that consists of a 13MP main shooter, 8MP wide-angle camera, 2MP depth camera, and quad flashlights.
Results: The Camon 12 is a camera focused series hence this was expected. The Pouvior 3 Plus did put up a good fight. In a world where not everyone is a professional photographer, who will notice the difference between a 16MP camera and a 13 MP lens anyways? The winner is The Camon 12.
Tecno Camon 12 vs Tecno Pouvior 3 Plus: Hardware and Memory
Under the hood, we have the Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 (12 nm) octa core processor in charge of daily affairs on both phones. The processor has 8 Cortex-A 53 cores all clocked at 2.0GHz.
The devices have 4GB of RAM space clocked at 933MHz. The RAM space is enough for day to day multi tasking and should load all heavy apps without issues.
On the storage side, there is a 64 GB storage space available for media and other files. There is also a dedicated memory card slot for storage expansion.
Results: Meh… It is a draw. No difference
Tecno Camon 12 vs Tecno Pouvior 3 Plus: Battery Specifications
The Tecno Camon 12 uses a 4000 mAh battery, unfortunately, there is no fast charge technology. On the Pouvior 3 Plus there is a 6000mAh monster battery. It is by far Tecno’s highest battery rating yet.
Tecno claims it can stay on for 5 days. It means 2100 minutes of calling, or 12000 minutes of music playing, or 1020 minutes of gaming?
Results: Well, the Pouvior series is a power focused series hence it is the natural territory of the Pouvior 3 Plus. The Camon 12’s 4000 mAh battery might be good but we know how LTE network depletes battery. The winner is clear – The Tecno Pouvior 3 Plus
Tecno Camon 12 vs Tecno Pouvior 3 Plus: Overall Winner
I don’t get to use my phone’s camera every day so I could care a little less about camera specifications.
Besides, I don’t see much difference between a 16 MP lens and a 13 MP lens especially when the latter can capture images clearly too (my current device uses a 13MP lens).
Being a heavy user, a 6000mAh battery is definitely a plus for me since both devices offer the same performance power. I could live with a 6.32-inch display so I will go for the Pouvior 3 Plus anytime. How about You?
