Pretty soon summer will be upon us and some parents will be taking their kids on vacation. What better place to visit with you kids than one of our nation’s water parks?
I have listed some of the bigger and better ones you may want to visit with your kids. Taking the whole family to a water park can bring the family closer together and serve as one of those memories your family will never forget.
Noah’s Ark Family Park, located in the Wisconsin Dells, this is the biggest water park in America. It consists of over 70 acres of land with over 60 different water creations for you to have fun with. There are tons of rides, an aquatic park and a 4D Theater.
This park has received the top award for aquatic safety since 1995. It is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Six Flags White Water, located in Atlanta, Georgia, this is the largest water park in the Southeastern United States.
They offer thrill rides, kids rides, special events throughout the year, food, shopping and rides for the whole family. It opens every day from the middle of May to the end of July.
White Water Park is located in Branson, Missouri, and is part of the Silver Dollar entertainment complex. It consists of over 13 acres of rides and slides; one may enjoy any of the numerous rides, the huge water slide, or float through the Polynesian gardens on the Aloha River.
Water World is located just outside of Denver, Colorado. This water park has 49 different water attractions, including three separate kids’ play areas and several speed slides.
It is a total of 64 acres hosting such well-known attractions as “Wally World” and “Journey to the Center of the Earth.” This waterpark is said to have the most tube rides and is a good place to plan a birthday party.
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon has the World’s Largest Wave Pool. From the Bayslides and Storm Slides to the Typhoon Lagoon Surface Pool all eleven attractions offer one great time.
Located in Orlando, Florida as part of the Disney World Complex this is a place you won’t want to miss if you decide to go to Disney World.
Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari, previously known as Santa Claus World prior to 1984, sports the world’s largest water coaster named “Mammoth.” You ride down the coaster in a six passenger round boat, allowing the entire family to ride all at once.
This theme park is set up around four holidays, Fourth of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Water Country USA is located in Williamsburg, Virginia. This waterpark offers you a place to take a break after you hit all of the historical sites Williamsburg has to offer.
Combine this with a pass to Busch Gardens and you have yourself one big fun vacation. Their great water slides and their new “Colossal Curl” will create a time that will be hard to forget.
Wet N Wild Disco and Wake Skating was the world’s first water park starting in 1977. Go down in an inner tube into the disco world of lights and music.
There are several vertical slides as well as wakeboarding where you are pulled by a cable. They heat the pools in the winter so don’t shy away just because it is the winter.
Aquatica Orlando is SeaWorld’s water park full of relaxing rivers, thrilling water slides and some amazing wave pools in addition to some interesting animal encounters. There are over 30 water slides that take you through various animal encounters ending up in a pool of dolphins.
Schlitterbahn New Braunfels is located in New Braunfels, Texas and is known as the world’s longest water park ride. It consist of over three miles of tubing and seven areas just devoted to kids. Around Schlitterbahn a resort was built consisting of condos and hotels.
There is a 3600 foot long somewhat feisty river hosting the world’s longest ride Schlitterbahn New Braunfels. There are three uphill water slides created by Schlitterbahn himself. There are many special attractions sure to please everyone in the family.
