Sinach was born on 30th March 1977 in Lagos State, Nigeria, as Osinachi Kalu Okoro Egbu, and she is currently 42years old. She is originally from Ebonyi state in the southern part of Nigeria and is the second child among seven children.
Sinach started singing for her family and friends at a very young age and joined the local choir of her church Christ Embassy Lagos when she was a teenager.
Sinach had her primary and secondary school education in Lagos, Nigeria, where she obtained both her First School Leaving certificate and her West African Senior School Certificate.
After her primary and secondary education, Sinach went further to attend the University of Port Harcourt in Rivers State, Nigeria where get obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Physics.
As a young girl, Sinach worked as administrative staff and also joined the choir in her local church; where she had the opportunity to nurture her talent and gain exposure to the gospel.
Being very passionate about music, Sinach was always writing songs on her own, and In 2008 she released her first album titled “Chapter One.” The album featured the hit single “This Is Your Season” which won her the Song of the Year Award in 2008.
Other albums and hit songs followed subsequently, and the hit song “Way Maker” is the most recognized of all. Upon its release in 2015, Way Maker has piled up awards and recognition for the talented singer.
The hit song has been nominated three times and bagged the 51st GMA Dove Awards for Song of the Year, making her the first Nigerian ever to win the Award.
The video for Way Maker is currently the third most viewed Nigerian music video on YouTube, as it garnered over 100 million views behind Davido’s “Fall” at number one and Yemi Alade’s “Johnny” at the second spot.
The song has also been covered by over 60 Gospel artists such as Leeland, Michel W. Smith, Darlene Zschech and Mandlsa and in different languages.

She got married on 28th June 2014, to Pastor Joseph Ogbu who is also a pastor of Christ Embassy and Believers Loveworld Ministries. The marriage took place at their resident Christ Embassy Church in Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria.
On 17th November 2019, Founder of Christ Embassy Pastor Chris Oyakhilome announced the arrival of the couple’s first child, five years after being married.
