Timbaland Early Life

Timbaland who was born Timothy Zachary Mosley on the 10th of March 1972, to Garland and Latrice Mosley who were  employee at Amtrak and a homeless shelter manager respectively; in Norfolk, Virginia.

He is the oldest of three children, whose names are Sébastien (younger brother) and Courtney Rashon (sister). Timbaland started music production at a very tender age, while in high school. He teamed up with star rap artist who was popularly known by his stage name Magoo.

He later joined the ‘surrounded by idiots’ music production team. Later in 1986, Timbaland got shot by a colleague, leaving him paralyzed partially for about nine months.

Timbaland despite being partially paralyzed, didn’t allow that to dampen his zeal for disc jockeying as he started getting acquainted with using his left hand to disc jockey.

Timbaland’s excellent and creative work piece later caught the attention of rapper Missy Elliot who wasted no time in working with him.

He was taken to New York by Missy Elliot, along with Magoo where Swing Mob which is a record label managed by Devante, another popular producer and also a member of Jodeci; which was a thriving R&B group at that time.

It was Devante that gave him the stage name Timbaland. Timbaland subsequently worked on a couple of production projects with fellow producer Devante.

Timbaland kicked started his music officially by producing tracks for R&B artist like Sista and Jodeci. He finally came into the lime light when he produced a bulk of Ginuwine’s debut album, as well as Aaliyah’s second hit album titled ‘one in a million’.

Timbaland was so creative that he could even fuse hip-hop sound with R&B making it diffult for one to differentiate between R&B and hip hop production. Timbaland finally produced the debut album of Missy Elliot which is titled Supa Dupa Fly.

Timbaland further released his second the Bubba Sparxxx album titled Deliverance in late part of 2003, followed by the third album Under Construction which he collaborated with Magoo to produce. He produced Missy Elliot’s sixth album, as well as three other tracks for popstar Hikaru Utada who happens to be an American-Japanese.

In 2006, Timbaland established a new record label, Mosley Music Group with the assistance of Australian legend in music production, John Servedio. Part of his record label were star artists Keri Hilson, Nelly Furtado and rap star D. O. E.

In that same here, he produced a second solo album titled FutureSex/Lovesounds for Justin Timberlake. In 2007, Timbaland produced the song Ayo Technology which was among the tracks that made up Curtis album, owned by 50 cent.

Timbaland in 2008 became the most sort out for producer, as he helped many artist to produce their albums, albums like; Doll Domination by Pussycat Dolls, Spirit in the Dark by Lindsay Lohan, B. O. M. B by Busta Rhymes and a host of others.

The song ‘believe ‘ which was sung by Dima Bolan, which was a Russian entry song for the Eurovision Contest in 2008, was produced by Timbaland. Later in May 2008, the ‘Believe ‘ won the contest which was held in Serbia.

In late 2009, the ill-famed album titled Shock Value II which was filled with excessive use of vocal effects, was released. The single ‘morning after dark’ which was sung by Soshy and Nelly Furtado, being one the tracks in Timbaland’s third studio album became a mega hit in October 2009. The single was such a hit that it was ranked no. 23 out of 100 on Hot 100 list.

In 2010, Timbaland collaborated with Billy Blue and T-Pain to release the single ‘Talk That’. In that same year, Timbaland called it quit with Black Ground records, which I was part of for a very long time. He remained with  Inter scope Record. In 2011, Timbaland Thursdays, which Timbaland began for free music was initiated.
